The C compiler identification is MSVC 7.0 I followed all the steps I could gather, what am I missing? Once more, thanks for your time. I wonder if System Language could have any sort of influence. In my first post, I forgot to add "ptrhead.h" to the list of "Not Found" files from CMake. My results were the same as I had had before, with CMake 3.7.2.
So, folks, here I am after updating CMake to 3.8.0.

This is what's going on for me - Windows 10(1067) - 圆4:ġ)I removed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable(MS_VC++2010Redist) - x86 and 圆4 Ģ)Installed DirectX 10 SDK (it wouldn't complete if I hadn't removed (MS_VC++2010Redist) - x86 and 圆4 ģ)Installed (MS_VC++2010Redist) - x86 and 圆4 back Ĥ)Open CMake(v3.7.2) and set unzipped "Assimp 3.3.1" path as source directory and build directory some place else Ħ)Not Found: offset 圆4, zlib, GIT_EXECUTABLE ħ)Tried frustrating different solutions, none gave me a 100% OK CMake compilation Ĩ)I gave up, and opened Assimp.sln in Visual Studio 2017 anyway and compiled it ĩ)I looked for the assimp.dll and the assimp.lib files, but all I found were assimp-VC140-mt.dll and assimp-VC140-mt.lib ġ0)Are all the steps above expected and correct?ġ1)Should I ignore those "not found" files?ġ2)Should I look for them somewhere else?ġ3)Am I supposed to rename those files to assimp.dll and assimp.lib and then link them properly in Visual Studio?ġ4)So many questions, I know. it's hard to know what's current and what's not.
